For Miki, the Italian Greyhound, sleeping through the night is only possible if the setup is 100% correct. This breed is usually very lean, and they get cold easily. So they really need a soft place to land.
In a new video posted on @mikitheiggy, this sweet dog is busy turning the bed into a nest. Miki has his large plushie toys and blanket ready. But it isn’t quite right yet. He spends several minutes working on the cushions. He won’t just lie down. This pup needs everything to be in its exact place before he can enjoy his nap.
Dog does all he can to create the perfect spot on bed
In the video, the dog starts digging at the blanket on the bed right away, and then he does a full spin. He uses his snout to move the corners around. At one point, his back legs are up on the pillow, leaning against the headrest. It looks like a very awkward position to be in, but he doesn’t stop. His human lets out a little laugh in the background while filming.
Next, he does a dramatic flick of his front leg. The blanket finally unfolds. He inspects the fabric and looks happy with that specific detail for now. But the job isn’t done. He has to position the cushion underneath the blanket now.
He spins two or three more times. And then he digs some more. It takes a lot of physical effort to find the center. He almost falls over during one of the spins. He has to persevere, though.
“Making a perfect spot requires time and dedication,” the owner said. This video shows that this determined dog won’t quit till the bed is just right. Finally, he plops down right in the middle.
He surrounds himself with his toys and the pillows. He puts one paw out on the blanket. He looks at his mom as if she interrupted his “ritual.” She tells him, “Good job, Miki,” and he looks ready to close his eyes.
Many people liked the clip. One person mentioned, “Miki can be pretty picky with his sitting.” That he is, but at long last, he is cozy. He’s surely earned that sleep after all that effort.
