The silent negotiation over who officially owns the couch is a daily drama in any household with pets. Meko the Alaskan Malamute, in this Instagram Reel, is making it very clear that most of the sofa’s surface belongs to him. He is the star of @therealpaworotti, and his 116K followers are used to his dramatic opera performances.
But this new video shows the dog stretched out, taking up most of the couch, while his dad is tucked into the corner holding a cushion. It’s one of those setups where both seem convinced they’re the one being squeezed.
Dog lets out big sigh after dad says this about the couch
When the video starts, we see both the big dog and his dad sitting together on the couch. It is clear as day that Meko is taking up three-quarters of the seat, but somehow, he is the one who feels it is crowded. He turns his head and stares directly at his dad with a look of pure judgment and sass. His dad says, “I think you have enough room, mate.”
Meko just looks at him and then looks away. And then he lets out the most massive, world-weary sigh. It is honestly hilarious. His dad immediately starts laughing at the sheer drama of it all. But Meko remains totally serious. He even looks at his dad like the whole situation is an insult. It goes to show that a well-timed sigh is the most powerful tool in his non-verbal arsenal.
“That Sigh,” the owner exclaims in the post’s caption. The clip already has over 11.9K likes within half a day because almost every pet owner can relate to being slowly pushed off their own furniture by a fluffy flatmate.
One viewer mentioned that his expressions are priceless. While another fan joked that this dog definitely needed his legs to be on the couch, too. Someone else even suggested his dad should just move to the floor because Meko clearly wants the entire piece of furniture all to himself for the rest of the day.
