You can really tell a lot about a dog’s personality by how they handle it when their sibling starts having a nightmare right next to them. Gamja and Chip are a famous Golden Retriever duo out in California. And they usually spend their time being sweet and smart for their 423k followers. But a recent video from @gamjamypotato shows a much deeper side to the Golden Retrievers’ bond. Their owner was filming them sleeping from under a work desk. It is quiet at first, but then we hear a whine. And that was enough to wake someone up.
Owner shows how Golden Retriever comforts her brother crying in his sleep
The camera is tucked under a table, and through it we see both dogs out cold on the carpet. Out of nowhere, though, Chip starts making these little whining noises, indicating he’s having a bad dream. For a second, nothing happens, then Gamja lifts her head. She looks around for a second, and then she just turns on her side and rolls over to him.
She lies down right next to her brother in a comforting move. Heads together. You know instantly that it is a very deliberate choice to be close to her brother. This breed is known for being incredibly intuitive. They just know when someone is hurting, and Gamja definitely knew.
She even moves her paw a little to get more comfortable in this new sleeping position. Chip, on the other hand, seems to settle down almost instantly in her presence. And then Gamja lets out a massive sigh, like she is relieved he is okay.
Their owner actually shared a sweet detail in the comments. Chip is usually the one comforting Gamja during her dreams. But this time it was the other way around. One person said she is the best big sister. Another fan mentioned their hearts are in a puddle on the floor at the tenderness of it all. The clip has over 5.1k likes already, since people just love seeing that kind of support. Always next to each other.
