A cheerful pup named Reef turned a simple treat game into a funny little thinking contest on Instagram. The clip, shared by reefthegolden_ a week ago, shows him trying to track down hidden snacks while sitting on the living room floor with his owner, Grace.

Like many retrievers, Reef seems highly food-motivated and very focused on his person. That likely explains why he keeps checking Grace before trusting the cups. Dogs often rely more on scent than color, so his careful sniffing makes sense. Instead of rushing, he pauses, studies the setup, and looks genuinely puzzled by every shuffle.
The clip starts with Reef sitting beside Grace as the game begins. Soon, his inner thoughts pop up on screen. “I still don’t know colors,” one caption reads.
