And the girl is so calm about it; she is teaching the pup to be gentle and to sit. You see, it’s not just about the snuggles; here, they are building a real bond, and it is working.

She is being very careful, and the girl says “good” to let her know she did it right.
Next, they move to the floor for some more advanced stuff. The little girl sits down and extends her palm for a “paw” command, and Sunny looks at her hand and just places her paw right in it. Impressively, the patience on both sides is incredible for a living room session.
Then she places her palm flat against the floor for “lay down,” and Sunny follows along perfectly. She goes completely flat on the ground. This time, the pup gets a massive reward. The girl tells her, “Good girl, you get two treats.” And she places one on each of Sunny’s front paws.
It is so good to see kids taking up this kind of responsibility, because it isn’t always just about the cute cuddles and the photos. Training a pup takes real work, and when children learn that, their bond with the pet just gets so much deeper. The owners even mentioned that “she’s learning so well thanks to her awesome trainer.” And they are right.
