A ten-year-old Corgi suddenly having a tiny puppy follow him around all day…that’s very much the vibe of this video from @topithecorgi posts. It is amazing how a dog who has seen it all takes it upon himself to show a newcomer the ropes. Topi, the Corgi, is the older sibling, and Mona, an Australian Shepherd born in 2024, is basically his shadow. They’re out in Finland, and most of what’s happening is just him making sure she feels okay.
Puppy learns everything big brother teaches her
The clip starts with Topi lying calmly on the floor while Mona, still very much a puppy, is tucked into him like that’s exactly where she belongs. She’s fully leaning on her big brother already, and it keeps showing up in the next clips. “I have a big brother who has taught me everything I know,” the narration from Mona’s POV begins, and you can see it play out right away.
The video cuts to Mona in a pen with other puppies. She is looking small but curious, and the VO adds, “He showed me how to be brave.” Back home, they’re playing together, and Topi nudges her gently. He then pauses and looks away, giving her space while she figures things out. Mona just stays there on her back for a second, a bit unsure, but not panicking.
Then there’s a quieter moment where she’s being held by her human, seemingly scared. And in the next shot, Topi walks over to check on her, staying close without fuss. “When I was scared, he stayed by my side,” the narration continues.
People in the comments keep calling him “the BEST big brother.” And Mona starts to mirror him too, just in small ways at first. “Step by step,” the VO says, as we see them run together in the snow next, and she follows his path without hesitation, keeping close the whole time.
Then the pool scene shows up, where he’s calm and steady, and she’s still learning. But she keeps looking toward him, as though Topi is telling her, “You can do this.” The video ends with the two of them playing together. The narration concludes, “He didn’t just teach me how to be a dog, he taught me how to be myself.” Hard not to tear up on that part.
