Your house might officially be in your name. However, the truth is your dog actually owns every square inch of it. Jesse, who runs @chasin_chester in SoCal, just shared a funny video of her Golden Retriever, Chase, proving exactly who the real landlord is.
The dog has a very specific favorite home spot in the corner of a room. He doesn’t even use the expensive bed lying right next to him. Instead, he stretches out on the hardwood floor. The Retriever’s front paws are on the bed, but his back paws are up on the wall. It looks like he is powering up.

The video starts with Chase looking totally zoned out. The text on the screen says he is just recharging at his port. It is an inside joke for his 560k followers, as of the time of writing. But then Jesse gets the camera closer to his paws on the wall. She tries to move them, and that is when you see the actual damage. There is chipped plaster in that exact spot. It is a tiny hole that perfectly fits his two back feet. The dog has scraped it so many times that he actually made a permanent mark.
Goldens are known for being incredibly quirky about where they sleep, and they often find the most awkward positions just to be comfortable. Chase seems to find a lot of peace at his favorite home spot. He is a 4-year-old dog with a lot of energy to burn, so he really needs a place to rest.
One viewer joked that he is just a “charging dog” now. And another person called him an artist, who is contemplating his next piece of work for Mom. As of the time of writing, the post already has over 6.6k likes from people who totally get the chaos. One follower mentioned having similar black lines of dirt along their hallway from their own dog.
Another fan said Jesse will have to cut that piece of wall out if she ever moves. It is just a part of the legacy now. It surely makes the home feel lived-in and loved.
