A change of environment can feel like a treat when it comes with added comfort and care. For many pups, their grandparents’ home quickly becomes their favorite for all the obvious reasons. The difference in routine and attention doesn’t go unnoticed, and neither does the return to normal life. That contrast is on display in a recent video featuring a rescue dog who refuses to leave her grandparents’ house.

The video, posted by @lucylutherescue_, shows a pup named Lucy who clearly isn’t ready to say goodbye after spending Easter at her grandparents’ home. Filmed by her mom, the clip begins with Lucy being gently led toward the car by her dad. Dressed in a pink bow collar, she looks adorable, but her mood quickly suggests she has other plans.

As her dad encourages her to walk forward, Lucy resists. Instead of heading toward the car, she pulls in the opposite direction, slowing down and planting herself as if to protest the entire situation. Her reluctance is both obvious and amusing, as she seems determined to stay where the fun is.

An on-screen caption humorously describes the moment: “When you refuse to leave your grandparents all inclusive resort and go back to the city.” Despite her best efforts, Lucy’s dad eventually steps in and lifts her into his arms, carrying her toward the car while she continues to resist. The caption alongside the post adds context, noting that Easter was enjoyable until it was time for Lucy to leave what her owner jokingly calls the “all inclusive resort” of her grandparents’ house.

Viewers flooded the comments with amused reactions and playful observations. One person joked about whether the “resort” included treats like chicken, while complimenting Lucy’s appearance. Another drew a comparison to the film “Beethoven 2,” pointing out Lucy’s bow and demeanor reminded them of the iconic movie pup.

Some commenters sympathized with Lucy, suggesting she should be allowed to stay longer. Meanwhile, others compared her behavior to that of a stubborn toddler who refuses to leave a place they enjoy. A few took a more practical tone, noting that, like kids, sometimes pets simply have to be picked up and taken home.
