This Rottweiler lives in Connecticut, and her latest video has absolutely taken over the internet. Any dog usually loves attention from her human, but that changes when Spirit’s baby starts making noise. Spirit simply shows that maternal instincts are the same for everyone. Her 584.6K likes are well-deserved for such a sweet moment.
Dog gets worried after hearing her baby crying and responds with a gentle kiss
The clip opens inside Spirit’s pen while she sits surrounded by her two-day-old puppies. The in-video text reads, “Volume up for this one. Spirit’s reaction to her baby crying.” At first, the Rottweiler seems completely relaxed, glancing up at the person filming her with that proud, sleepy new-mom look.
Then one of the puppies lets out a little squeak, and Spirit immediately stops posing and freezes in place. She turns toward the sound so fast it almost feels automatic, staring carefully at the pile of sleeping babies trying to figure out which puppy made the noise. When things go quiet again, she looks back toward the camera for a second.
Then a little squeak echoes through the room again. Spirit freezes for a second time and tilts her head with total concentration. She is clearly trying to identify which baby needs her. Another squeak leads to another adorable head tilt.
Finally, a longer cry comes from the puppy tucked closest to her. Spirit does not hesitate for a single second as she leans down and gives the little one a gentle kiss to comfort them. A lot of viewers could not stop talking about how attentive she was. “She said which one of my babies are crying,” one person joked. Another wrote, “She’s so happy to see you but baby comes first.” And that is exactly what makes the whole thing so sweet.
