Watching a senior dog get genuinely excited over a delivery package is an instant mood booster. And we are treated to this exact wholesome moment in a touching clip posted by the South Carolina group @dogsquad_sc.

The video features a senior foster dog named Bridge unboxing a huge surprise. He is currently waiting for a real home in Greenville, but in the meantime, he spends his days gathering an adorable collection of stuffed animals. Life, as it turns out, is pretty good when there’s a comfy couch nearby and a favorite toy tucked safely in his mouth.

The clip opens with Bridge waiting eagerly behind a doggy door as the on-screen text reads, “Bridge got mail today.” Then we see dad sitting on the couch holding a cardboard parcel. Bridge climbs right into his lap and hops beside him on the couch. He looks very invested in the unboxing process. That’s when he discovers the box is packed with brand-new plushies from a well-wisher named Kayla.

He pulls out one soft toy after another until a huge pile sits in front of him. The way he is incredibly gentle with them is enough to melt the toughest hearts. We learn from the caption that this sweet rescue pup never tears up his stuffed animals. Instead, he carries them around from room to room to feel safe.

We further learn that the senior pup recently graduated from sleeping in a crate at night. Now he curls up on an office sofa instead. And he snores all night before waking up to give his foster brother Bert morning kisses.

The adorable video showing the senior foster dog and his pile of toys earned hundreds of likes online. Commenters are cheering hard for his adoption. One fan mentioned that stuffed friends are truly the best friends. At 9 to 10 years old, this mixed-breed boy is already house-trained and crate-trained. He gets along well with other dogs, especially females. But he needs a home without any cats or young children under eight years old. Here’s hoping he finds his forever family soon.
