Not all dogs have a happy and carefree life; some have to go through hardships and heartbreaks. This especially applies to shelter pups who definitely need extra care and attention. Sometimes, their past may even make them fearful of humans.
A recent post on social media captured a similar instance. The video shows a shelter dog named Dora scared to interact with humans. @shelterdogstails took to their Instagram to share this heart-touching moment.
Shelter dog is so scared of humans, she won’t come out of her kennel
In the video above, the shelter dog is scared to step out of the kennel as he’s afraid of humans. Dora is inside the kennel, but even then, she tries to make herself invisible. The reason behind the fear remains unclear.
However, the uploader feels the pup wants to trust her since she keeps wagging her tail. As such, the lady tries to earn Dora’s trust by offering her a treat. While the pooch accepts the treat, she continues to back away.
Sudden movements cause her to cower and retreat more. Later, when the woman walks away, Dora comes to the front of the kennel again to watch her. The lady hopes that the dog would realize that not all humans are bad.
The uploader shared in the caption that Dora was adopted for a week, but the adopter’s landlord told them that dogs of Dora’s size are not allowed. The shelter sees it as a blessing in disguise since the canine needs a special adopter or foster who will make her feel safe.
The uploader further added, “Dora will not get the TLC she so desperately needs. If you can foster her, please do so. If you can adopt this sweet girl and give her the life she deserves, please do so. And if you can’t – please share her or tag your favorite rescue with a pledge.”
