You can learn a surprising amount about a dog from the small things they do when they feel comfortable. Audrey, a rescue dog living in a foster home, has developed an adorable habit that she apparently repeats whenever she is getting ready for a nap. Her gentle cobbing on a blanket has now offered a closer look into one of the little rituals that make her feel at ease.

Rescue dog finds comfort in cobbing every time she’s about to nap in a loving foster home

Audrey has spent months waiting for her forever family, but in the meantime, she appears to have found a comforting routine in her foster home. A video shared by @mrsfosterhouse shows the rescue dog getting ready for a nap, with Audrey gently cobbing a blanket on her as she begins to wind down.

The text accompanying the footage reads, “My foster dog anytime before she falls asleep,” giving viewers a glimpse of what appears to be Audrey’s regular pre-nap ritual. As she settles on the blanket, she repeatedly moves her mouth against the fabric in a gentle nibbling motion before presumably drifting off to sleep.

While the moment is adorable on its own, there is more to Audrey’s story behind the video. Her foster family revealed that she was approaching eight months in their care, while it had been nine months since she had been without a permanent family. After spending so much time waiting for an adopter, Audrey is still looking for someone who will allow her to become part of their family.

Her foster mom describes her as “smart, fun and easygoing,” and says she is truly an “amazing dog.” Sharing everyday moments like her bedtime routine allows potential adopters to see more of her personality rather than simply seeing her as another rescue dog waiting for a home.

Audrey is currently available for adoption through @countryacresrescuesc in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her foster family hopes the video will help introduce her to someone who may be the right match for her.
