It’s hard to watch a foster dog arrive carrying that much fear, unsure of where they are or who to trust, and yet that’s exactly how Dolly’s story begins on @madsmaley. This little lady traveled fifteen hours in a tiny crate all the way from Tennessee to New York. Mads is a musician in the city who spends her time mothering these precious rescue babies. It is heavy to see a pup so broken at the start. However, watching her realize she is finally safe makes every hurdle worth it. After all, she just needed someone to show her love, care, and trust.
Foster dog who was once shaking and scared finds love and gets adopted
The footage from @madsmaley begins with a heartbreaking scene of a named Dolly shivering in a corner next to a water bowl. She looks so unsure about the world around her. The pooch even lifts a paw up and avoids eye contact while standing outside on the grass in the next clip.
Most rescue pups need a lot of patience to decompress after being through so much stress. Dolly had just given birth and was still healing when she arrived at Mads. It is really tough to see an animal tremble with fear like that. But things take a turn for the better eventually.
Pretty soon, Dolly is a totally different version of herself. She is lounging on the couch and looking utterly relaxed. Instead of shaking, she is letting out a giant yawn and making herself at home. This specific foster dog even started sleeping between her mom’s legs for extra comfort. She eventually accepts sweet kisses during a mirror selfie and looks so content.
It is amazing how much a little bit of nurturing can change a dog’s entire personality. Dolly really enjoys the snuggles and being close to her human, Mads shared. By the end, she is a ball of pure confidence. The fur baby is seen sprinting through a sunny field at full speed. She wags her tail and jumps onto the couch, and even snags treats from her mom’s hand.
However, Mads admitted that she is an emotional wreck every time a pup leaves. Still, Dolly was adopted by the loveliest family just before April 1. Seeing her feel so safe in her new life is the best reward possible. “I hope it convinces you to always adopt,” Mads shared in her caption. We hope so, too.
Meanwhile, several viewers were touched by Dolly’s journey, with one commenting, “What a sweetheart. Deserves all the best in the world.” Another added, “It’s just so amazing to see the impact you had. So so sweet.” As of writing, this sweet video has received over 37K likes.
