Rescue dog becomes devoted to foster pup while his mother undergoes treatment
Cowboy’s mother, Honey, is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms. This means she cannot nurse her puppies while taking medication and must remain separated from them for now. With Honey unable to be with her puppies, Cowboy has been missing the comfort and attention he would normally receive from his mother. Somehow, Cactus seems to have picked up on that and has started spending more time with the young pup.
In the video, Cactus watches over Cowboy as the puppy rests on the bed. At one point, the bigger dog seems eager to wake him up and play, but his owner reminds him to let the baby sleep. Cactus still keeps a close eye on Cowboy. The rescue dog gently checks on him, moves closer, and repeatedly tries to cuddle with the puppy. When Cactus gets a little too excited and almost rolls onto Cowboy, his owner quickly reminds him that Cowboy is still just a baby.
The clips show the two dogs lying next to each other, with Cactus eventually settling down beside the puppy.
