Otis knew exactly what he wanted when he spotted a pile of tennis balls on a nearby court. The Golden Retriever settled down beside the court and kept watching the tennis balls, hoping someone would bring one his way. As luck would have it, a stranger noticed his interest in them and decided to make his dreams come true.
Stranger notices Golden Retriever eyeing tennis balls and brings one over
Golden Retrievers are known for their playful nature and love of fetching. So, it is hardly surprising that a tennis ball can quickly grab their attention. For Otis, however, the collection of tennis balls sitting on a nearby court seemed impossible to ignore.
A video shared by @otisgoldenboy shows the pup sitting beside a tennis court while several balls are scattered across the other side of the fence. The Golden appears completely focused on them, keeping his eyes fixed on the balls as he waits nearby. His attention is so obvious that it eventually catches the notice of a stranger inside the court.
The man approaches Otis and his owner and appears to realize exactly what has captured the dog’s attention. He tells them that the fur baby can have a tennis ball, giving the patient pup an unexpected treat.
The stranger then picks up a tennis ball from the court and reaches out to hand the same to Otis. The Golden Retriever does not hesitate once his long-awaited prize arrives. As soon as the ball is within reach, he grabs it in his mouth, seemingly delighted that the object he had been watching so intently was finally his.
The video was captioned “made his whole night,” an apt description of what appeared to be a very satisfying ending for Otis. In fact, his enthusiastic tail wagging made it clear that the small gesture had gone a long way.
