A Chihuahua has found himself with an important responsibility of helping a tiny human get through story time. The pup sits beside the child on the couch, watching the book as each page is turned. Then the child lifts his paws and lets him take part in the page-turning. For a dog who cannot read, he certainly looks committed to the process.

A Chihuahua has apparently taken on an important role during a child’s reading session, and the little dog seems more than happy to participate. A video shared by @thetwinchis shows the pup sitting on a couch beside a tiny human as the two settle in with a storybook.
The child appears to be holding the book while the Chihuahua sits close by, comfortably tucked against her side. As the girl looks through the book and turns the pages, the dog keeps his eyes directed toward the story. His focused expression makes it look as though he is following along with whatever the child is reading.
Then, the child finds a way to give the Chihuahua a more active role in story time. The tiny human picks up the dog’s paws and uses them to turn one of the pages. The Chihuahua calmly allows the child to guide his paws, making it almost look like the pup is helping with the reading.
Viewers were quick to point out the dog’s patience and the child’s affection in the comments. “Such a good puppy, so patient with Purple!” one person wrote. Another called the clip one of “the cutest things I have ever seen!!!”
