The leash comes off, and Lana freezes. For a second, she looks like she needs some sign, some confirmation that this is actually happening. Her human has barely finished taking off her collar when the young Golden Retriever looks at them for the official go-ahead.
The video shared by @lanathegoldenretriever_ captures the exact moment Lana realizes she is free to make her own plans. She races to the far end of the pool, comes flying back, tests the water with one paw, and then starts jumping in. Once Lana gets going, there is absolutely no stopping her.
Golden Retriever shows how much she wants to get into the swimming pool
The video has already collected more than 6,300 likes, and Lana’s reaction to getting off the leash is making plenty of people smile. That little pause at the beginning may be the best part. Lana is suddenly free, but she does not immediately run. She looks at her human, looks around, and seems to take a second to understand that nobody is holding her back.
Then she takes off. She runs straight toward the other end of the pool before turning around and racing back to her humans. She is clearly ready for the water, but still stops to put one paw into the pool first. The tail starts wagging. And just like that, Lana jumps in. And then she does it again.
The video keeps cutting to different angles as she launches herself into the water, with each jump looking a little more confident. Soon, she is completely soaked, but that has done nothing to reduce her enthusiasm. She paws at the water, climbs out and goes right back in.
At one point, she looks so happy that the pool seems to be the only thing worth thinking about. The young show-line Golden Retriever from Bali has plenty of energy to burn, and she seems to have found a very satisfying way to do it.
Viewers noticed that first pause, too. One person singled out the moment Lana stood there before running off, while another simply called her the “Best swimmer!” Another comment summed up the whole scene with two words: “happy dog.” And that is pretty much Lana from the moment the leash comes off. The Golden Retriever and the pool are clearly a very good combination.
