Gussy, a Golden Retriever mix, watches his owner’s bowl of yogurt and berries with the quiet determination of someone waiting for their portion. He starts with a hopeful stare, but when that fails, he adds a paw to the equation. At that point, his message is pretty hard to misunderstand.

Gussy, a Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees mix, seems convinced that his owner’s bowl of yogurt and berries should have been shared with him. A video posted to @gussythegoofygolden captures the dog sitting beside his owner while she enjoys her breakfast.
Gussy watches her closely, his eyes fixed on the bowl as though he is waiting for her to realize that he is supposed to get some too. His expression is familiar to anyone who has ever eaten around a dog. He gives his owner a pair of unmistakable puppy-dog eyes, quietly making his case without needing to bark or whine.
When the look does not seem to change her mind, Gussy tries another tactic. He places one paw on his owner’s lap and continues looking at her, seemingly hoping that the extra bit of persuasion will finally earn him a taste.
His owner knows exactly what he wants but does not give in. She tells Gussy that she cannot give him the bowl and instead points toward his bone sitting in the background. She then asks him whether he hid his bone there so he could enjoy it later, reminding him that he already has something of his own.
The exchange quickly caught the attention of viewers, who had plenty to say about Gussy’s determined approach. One person joked, “Laying on the table and everything,” reacting to how closely he was keeping an eye on the food.
Another viewer appeared convinced that Gussy deserved at least a small taste. “He needs a berry! How do you say no to that sweet face,” they wrote.
